Day 1, February 17, 2013

Sunday - February 17, 2013

The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, generous inside and out, true from start to finish. (John 1:14, The Message)

Pray: Jesus, touch my eyes again today. Show Yourself to me clearly.

Read Matthew 1:18-25 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%201:18-25&version=NKJV).
  • What does it say?
  • What does it mean?
Read Ellen G. White’s, The Desire of Ages (DA), Chapter 1: “God With Us” (pages 19-26; https://egwwritings.org) Highlights...
  • "Since Jesus came to dwell with us, we know that God is acquainted with our trials, and sympathizes with our griefs. Every son and daughter of Adam may understand that our Creator is the friend of sinners. For in every doctrine of grace, every promise of joy, every deed of love, every divine attraction presented in the Saviour’s life on earth, we see 'God with us.'” (page 24, paragraph 1)
  • "It was Satan’s purpose to bring about an eternal separation between God and man; but in Christ we become more closely united to God than if we had never fallen. In taking our nature, the Saviour has bound Himself to humanity by a tie that is never to be broken. Through the eternal ages He is linked with us." (page 25, paragraph 3)
Consider
  • How has Jesus touched me today?
  • What will I do differently today as a result of His touch?
  • Pray
